How to locate transaction hash

  • What is transaction hash?

Every transaction on the blockchain has its unique identifier called the transaction hash.

A Transaction Hash (Tx Hash), also known as Transaction ID (TxID), is the unique address of a transaction in a blockchain that acts as a record or proof that the transaction has taken place.

The transaction hash looks like a random sequence of letters and/or numbers.

Here is an example of a bitcoin transaction hash:

You can use transaction hashes to search for your transactions in block explorer and share them with people. For example, if you search for the above hash in popular block explorer Blockchain.info, you will see all the information about the transaction: its date, amount, receiver address, etc. Take a look.

  • Where do you find a transaction hash?

Note: In any crypto wallet, trading platform, etc. there is usually a page with your transaction history. Transaction hashes can be located there. If you can’t find it, please contact this service’s support team and ask them for the instructions or hashes you need. Usually, this information can be found in the payment history of that wallet.

On HitBTC, the transaction hashes for your deposits and withdrawals can be found:

Transaction hashes in the “Latest transactions” tab can be found by clicking the “?” button next to the status column.

On the Reports page, transaction hashes are located in a separate column on the right.

You don't even need to copy the hash, just click it. A block explorer page will open, showing you all the details of your transaction.

Note: You can see the “ID” column on HitBTC, which contains a string that looks like this: bqb389fa4-813a-47b6-e8fh-2ebe207c1a2h. These are internal HitBTC identifiers, not transaction hashes. They should not be used for searching in block explorers.

Binance

On the Binance platform, you can find transaction hashes in Wallet - Funding Wallet - Transaction history. If you moved your funds to HitBTC from your Binance account, you need to select Withdrawals - TxID.

Bybit

On BYBIT, the transaction history is in your assets. You can find a hash in Details.

Freewallet

In Freewallet, you have the History tab on the main page, so it should be easy to find a hash.

Other services

When using other services, first go to the transaction details, and then search for something like Transaction ID, TXID, Transaction Hash etc.
